community guidelines

elsewhere (joinelsewhere.co)

elsewhere puts five strangers from five different countries into one conversation. that only works if everyone shows up with a bit of good faith. these guidelines are what that looks like in practice.

show up

you've paid for a spot and five people are counting on you being there. if something comes up, let us know at hello@joinelsewhere.co as early as you can so we can sort the group.

be genuinely curious

the whole point is meeting people who are different from you. come with questions, not assumptions. the conversation will be better for it.

be respectful

this one's simple. treat everyone the way you'd want to be treated. that means:

disagreement is fine. disrespect isn't.

keep what's shared in the room

your group might share things they wouldn't post publicly. don't screenshot, record, or share anything from the call without everyone's explicit consent. what happens in the group stays in the group, unless everyone agrees otherwise.

this isn't a dating app

elsewhere is built for friendship and real connection. it's not a place to pursue romantic or sexual contact with other members. if someone makes it clear they're not interested in that kind of attention, respect it immediately and completely.

no spam, no selling, no recruiting

don't use elsewhere to promote products, services, or opportunities to other members without their consent. that's not what anyone signed up for.

if something goes wrong

if someone in your group makes you feel unsafe or breaches these guidelines, email us at hello@joinelsewhere.co. tell us what happened and we'll take it seriously. we'll follow up within 48 hours.

people who breach these guidelines may be removed from their group and from elsewhere, without refund.

the spirit of it

none of this is complicated. show up, be curious, be kind, and keep what's shared between the people who shared it. that's the whole thing.
